The idea.
For too long, I let my days be defined by the demands of a screen and the structure of a 'to-do' list. I felt the absence of a space where I could simply reflect without the pressure of a deadline or the constraint of a formal appointment.
Present & Post grew out of that silence. It is a transition from the "must-do" to the "meant-to-be." I built this to offer a different kind of progress—one that values the quiet unfolding of insight over the speed of execution. I wanted something that would allow me room to breathe, the space to grow, and the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of myself in my own time.
When I couldn’t find that sanctuary, I decided to create it myself. I built this for my own journey, and now, I’ve refined it for yours.
The person.
My name is Alison, and I have always had a deep interest in creating spaces for people to slow down, be more present, and find the clarity needed to grow. This fascination with introspection, human resilience, and the intricate connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors started early—and ultimately led me to earn my PhD in Psychology.
While my doctoral background gave me a profound, rigorous understanding of human behavior, my personal life taught me how to anchor it. Throughout my life, I have found writing to be pivotal in understanding myself. It was with a pen and paper that I found peace in difficult times and gratitude in the beautiful moments.
That is exactly what I want to facilitate for you. I founded Present & Post to take that psychological understanding of the mind and apply it outside of a traditional clinical setting, bringing it directly into your own space and time. I want to help integrate moments of self-reflection and presence seamlessly into your life.
I believe writing is a quiet, powerful tool that has a unique way of grounding us into a singular, honest focus away from digital distractions. Through Present & Post, I am here to help you reclaim that pace and use the handwritten word to explore your own path with intention.
